Objective
I'm interested in freelance and remote opportunities that involve journalism, reporting, writing, research, and/or editing. I grew up in China and come from an academic background in literature, creative writing, and Japanese studies. During my time in college, I wrote about campus life, profiled political activists, edited the culture desk of Yale Daily News, interned for a China-focused online publication and a business magazine, and reported on the regionalism and politics behind college-level Chinese curriculums. All the aforementioned experiences have shaped my interests in journalism, and I want to contribute to the world of media with skills acquired from the Yale Journalism Initiative program. My ideal professional opportunity will allow me to work on human-centric reporting or feature stories related to literature, culture, China, Japan, education, social justice, activism, and/or immigration/expatriation.
