Total Years Experience:

9 years

Skills:

I am a true five-tool journalist with top-tier versatility. There is nothing I can't do and nothing I won't try to lift an outlet I believe in or a story I think should be told.

I am proficient in major tools of our industry, including the entire Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, the major social media platforms, web languages (HTML, CSS, Javascript) and analytics tools (Google Analytics, Agorapulse, Sprout, Conviva).

At NBC, I am currently responsible for keeping the NBC Sports website and YouTube Channels updated and current with the latest videos and articles we help publish with headlines and descriptions I write. As a part of that responsibility, I also coordinate with the video team to make sure we publish or schedule the videos we need and code custom web pages.

After becoming proficient in both of those tasks, I am currently assigned to spearhead our digital coverage for horse racing, including the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Breeders Cup, and leading our coverage for the National Dog Show. With this, I have to coordinate with multiple teams, including linear, production, video and the sports desk to make sure we have adequate coverage.

In addition to my editorial skills, I took on the challenge of being well-versed in the technical side of our content management systems. I volunteered to write guides for our team when we switched CMSs for our website and mobile applications.

I also have skills in publishing digital blogs and stories since 2015 at publications like Fansided, 247 Sports, Yahoo! Sports and Yardbarker accumulating millions of views. While at Fansided, I managed a 14-writer staff, editing their content and pushing my own.

Recently at The Tylt, a digital data outlet, I published nearly 2,430 debates that tabulated over 24.8 million votes. Attached to those stories were custom graphics I created myself in Photoshop.

I also led content creation for paid campaigns like Fubo TV. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I managed and coordinated a multi-outlet March Madness bracket with Advance Local that not only brought hundreds of thousands of votes and traffic but also helped raise funds for the Center of Disease Philanthropy's COVID-19 Response Fund.

I also created, produced and co-hosted The Tylt's first podcast "Warming the Bench" using Adobe Audition interviewing sports figures and influencers. I distributed that and all of my stories through the Tylt Sports Twitter account, which I ran independently. Tweets during the Super Bowl, videos produced on Adobe Premiere and a couple of memes posted during trends went viral, contributing to the millions of impressions I got while running the account.

Before moving to the digital space, I worked in Bakersfield as a Multimedia Journalist, shooting, editing and presenting my own packages on camera.

I've done just about everything in media, and I've shown the desire to learn and apply what I haven't.

Desired Salary:

$80,000.00

Occupations:

Digital Content Producer/Editor, Editor General, Editor-Sports Editor, Media Director, Reporter/Sports
