Objective

Hello! My name is Juhi Doshi. I am a Los Angeles-based journalist. At Chapman University, I am a rising sophomore studying Political Science and Journalism as a recipient of the esteemed Dean’s Merit Scholarship.

I have a passion for all forms of journalism—broadcast, print, digital, and photojournalism. Political Science is another profound interest of mine, and I hope to eventually work as a national political correspondent for a major news outlet.

This past summer I was a Political Intern for RepresentUs, the nation’s largest anti-corruption group.

This past spring, I was a Fellow for A Starting Point and  BridgeUSA. As one of five students selected nationwide to be a part of this fellowship, I helped produce 13+ informative videos featuring interviews with U.S Senators, U.S Representatives, Governors, and local officials. The video and written content I created generated over 144,000 views. I also held a virtual “Campus Conversations” event and moderated a discussion with Rep. Katie Porter.

During my time as the Assistant News Editor of Chapman University’s award-winning newspaper, The Panther Newspaper, I was awarded two “Best of Show” individual awards for best “COVID-19 Reporting”and best “Social Justice Reporting” by the Associated Collegiate Press. I will begin my sophomore year as the Managing Editor of The Panther.

As a part of the Now Simplified research, writing, and fact-checking team, I break down complex political issues to an audience of 100,000 followers on Instagram. I’ve covered topics such as the coronavirus pandemicnational security2020 presidential election, national debate over fracking, and plenty more.

covered Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand during the 2020 Presidential campaign when she held a virtual press conference for the Her Campus Media community. Her Campus Media is the #1 online publication for college women, and I am currently the Assistant Editor for Chapman University’s Her Campus chapter and a National Writer for HerCampus.com.

My work has also appeared in Brown Girl MagazineThe Cramm, and60 Seconds Online Magazine. Check out my portfolio to see more!

I am a proud member of the Asian American Journalists Association and the South Asian Journalists Association.
