Produce best-in-class editorial across media products:
+ Familiarize yourself with the Salesforce ecosystem and content goals, enabling you to ideate original story ideas and content formats for a range of editorial products including The 360 (our in-house digital publication), customer stories and newsletter
+ Develop engaging, ahead-of-the-curve brand-level writing that’s editorial in style but also positioned to help our audience of BDMs.
+ Stay on the pulse of daily news in our industries and areas of innovation to inform conversation-starting articles for The 360 and inform proper cross-linking within our articles.
+ Schedule and conduct interviews with Salesforce customers, as well as external and internal experts to create balanced journalistic articles, calling on multiple sources with wide appeal and diverse backgrounds
+ As part of integrated brand planning, collaborate with content strategy, creative, Customer 360 and solutions product marketing teams, social media, line-of-business and industry content squads, customer marketing, and product marketers to ideate and write best-in-class articles for all key audiences
+ Together with key stakeholders, execute topics within the editorial calendar, ensure consistent quality, and proposed ideas for optimized copy across all channels
Provide best-in-class in-house editing:
+ Edit the work of internal writers, other contractors, and agencies to adhere to our editorial guidelines whenever possible
+ Assist with judgment calls about internal article pitches to shape them to be successful in meeting our KPIs
+ Edit content created by or in collaboration with our content partners; maintain a willingness to entertain and prioritize the needs and goals of these partners
+ Ensure content onsite is not duplicative and interlink between related articles as it makes sense
Collaboration, tracking, and organizational tasks:
+ Maintain clear, organized, and unfailingly positive communication to stakeholders, even as team goals and priorities shift
+ Comfortable in a fast-moving, often ambiguous environment.
+ Ability to continually track and re-prioritize your own assignments based on rapidly shifting initiatives.
+ Be accountable for the success metrics of articles and assist with the process of integrating traffic analysis into future work
+ Integrate data into decisions about future content direction; tag and track articles as required by our internal guidelines
+ Assist with the planning and maintenance of our editorial calendar in Kapost
+ Help evangelize our editorial guidelines among internal stakeholders; help with training as assigned
+ Support SEO and republication efforts on behalf of the team
Qualifications:
Journalism background:
7+ years experience editing, reporting, and writing for a fast-paced business news organization
+ Experience aggregating content into timely news articles
Partnership Mindset:
+ Experience liaising with stakeholders across multiple teams within an organization
+ Experience working in a marketing or communications organization, coordinating content involving multiple stakeholders is a bonus
Content Best Practices:
+ Knowledge of SEO and headline- and news-writing best practices for the internet
+ Track record of digesting complicated, jargon-filled, industry-specific materials and translating them into widely-appealing copy
