ABOUT THE ROLE Inc. Business Media is looking for a Recognition Program Director to oversee the editorial process for Inc.’s rankings, including the Inc. 5000, Female Founders, Power Partners, the Best in Business, Best Workplaces, and Inc. Regionals. This role will be crucial in curating and refining content (print, digital, data visualization and more) that highlights entrepreneurial success and innovation across various sectors. The Recognition Program Director will oversee the creation of compelling and accurate profiles, collaborate with internal teams to ensure the highest editorial standards, and engage with industry experts to bring forth the most influential leaders and fastest-growing companies. This position requires exceptional editorial expertise, strong data analysis and organizational skills, and a deep passion for celebrating business achievements and trends.
Salary range: $85,000 - $115,000 + bonus eligible. Compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, industry, and education.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING - Working under Inc.’s editorial director and editor-in-chief, the person in this role will assume full ownership of Inc.’s list projects, including assigning, editing, writing, and refining content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to Inc.’s editorial standards.
- Act as the editorial subject matter expert for recognition programs.
- Leverage your strong network of business contacts and general business acumen to inform and shape each recognition program.
- Partner closely with marketing and other key stakeholders to recruit rich and diverse candidates for each program.
- Direct the nomination and application processes, working closely with nominees to gather and verify information.
- Work with the editorial director and event’s team members to develop and enhance list projects through live journalism (events, panels, webinars, etc.)
- Develop and manage editorial calendars, ensuring timely publication of list-related content.
- Participate in the research and vetting process for list candidates, leveraging industry data, market research, and network contacts to identify high-potential companies and leaders.
- Collaborate with art teams to create visually compelling and informative content for both digital and print formats.
- Work with Inc.’s editorial, social media, marketing, and PR teams to effectively promote lists and related content.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of list content.
- Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies in the editorial process.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging business models, and notable developments relevant to the lists.
- Provide insights and recommendations for future lists based on trend analysis and feedback.
